Is a pool really as clean as you think? The answer is that it probably isnâ��t even though visually you may think it is. To understand why, you firstly need to know about the real cause of bacterial build up. The real cause is BIOFILM. BIOFILM is a slimy substance that lurks unseen on every surface of a pool, including the walls, ladders, grouting, linings, skimmer baskets and pumps but especially in the pipe work. Have you ever felt slimy walls? - We bet you have! That is BIOFILM.
