LVB TEST KIT Bal.Water/Cya Acid AF129CYS
The AF129CYS Kit measures:
Free(0.2-4.0 mg/l), Combined and Total Chlorine (chlorine comparator disk).
pH (pH comparator disk - 6.8-8.4).
Cyanuric Acid (special turbidity test - 0-200mg/l).
Total Alkalinity (tablet count - 0-500mg/l).
Calcium Hardness (tablet count - 0-1000,mg/l).
The comparator method uses a special comparator unit, two glass test cells (square test tubes) and a coloured disk. A water sample with the coloured disk in the background is compared to a water sample mixed with the test reagent (tablet).
Many Lovibond comparator kits are available.
Integrated prism unit.
Holder for cells with path lengths of up to 40 mm.
Discs can be changed without opening up the Comparator.
More than 400 methods available.
Coloured or turbid samples compensated for.
Guaranteed non fading glass standards.
Important Points for person/s responsible for water quality:
Water sample should be taken 30-45 cms below water level at furthest point from filter. We have a [PLOV9900S Water Sampler Bottle with long arm] for this purpose.
Each pool in a complex requires sepatate readings to be recorded.
Be conversant with local Health Commission/Department requirements.
Test for pH and Chlorine (free and combined) regularly and as required by local Health authorities.
Understand "Breakpoint" chlorination and the use of [PCHE1420 Aqua Plus] for chlorine pools.
GUIDELINES FOR ADJUSTING WATER BALANCE.
pH - adjust by 0.1
Raising - using Soda Ash - 385 grams per 100,000 litres of pool water.
Lowering - using pool grade Hydrochloric Acid - 715 mls per 100,000 litres of pool water.
Chlorine - adjust by 1 mg/L
Raising - using Liquid Chlorine - 700 mls per 100,000 litres of pool water.
Lowering - using Sodium Thiosulphate (or equilavent):
High Range (10+ mg/l) - 500 gms per 100,000 litres of pool water, broadcast over water surface of pool.Test after 15 minutes. Continue as above until chlorine level is about 6 mg/l. Then proceed as follows.
Low Range (upto 10 mg/l) - 100 grams per 100,000 litres of pool water, broadcast over water surface of pool. Test after 15 minutes. Continue as above until required level of chlorine is attained.
Alkalinity - adjust by 100 mg/L
Raising - using pool grade Sodium Bicarbonate - 17 Kgs per 100,000 litres of pool water.
Lowering - using pool grade Hydrochloric Acid - 20 litres per 100,000 litres of pool water.
Acid should be added "slowly" to pool water to avoid pH "bounce".
pH should be checked regularly during and after the completion of the addition of all the acid to the pool water.
Cyanuric Acid - adjust by 10 mg/L
Raising - using Cyanuric Acid powder - 850 gms per 100,000 litres of pool water.
Lowering - dump water and refill pool. For example, if cyanuric acid level in pool (100,000 litres) is 100 mg/L and you want the level to be 30 mg/L, dump 66,000 litres of water and refill with fresh water.
DO NOT let the cyanuric acid level get too high.
The ideal range is 20-30 mg/L for good disinfection rates and cost saving on chlorine usage.
Hardness - adjust by 100 mg/L
Raising - by using Calcium Chloride flakes or powder - 17 Kgs per 100,000 litres of pool water.
Lowering - by using 38 Kgs of Trisodium Phosphate (not sold by us) per 100,000 litres of pool water.
This method is hardly ever used because of the difficulty of the process and the phosphates left in the water.
Usually, the process of dumping water (similar to the lowering of cyanuric acid levels above) and refilling with low hardness water is used.
These Guidelines are given as a guide only and are approximations.
NO responsibility is taken for the accuracy of the information in the Guidelines.
